OSN is proud to say that we offer premium maca powder that—above all else—have been grown in its native habitat 4,000 meters above the plateaus of Peru and the Andes, where the maca plants naturally thrive. The seeds are sown in the rich soil of the Andes and Peruvian mountains and are trampled into the ground. They are left there to grow throughout winter.
Our maca plants are organically grown. They are organically certified by Organic Farmers and Growers who is one of UK’s leading organic control bodies. This way, you can be sure our product is not tainted with pesticides, sulfite and other preservatives.
When the roots of the maca plant have reached a diameter of five centimetres, they are carefully dug out by hand in order to avoid damage. The roots are then dried naturally under the sun. After about two weeks, the dried raw organic maca roots are quickly weighed, cleaned and picked so that only the best roots remain. These are washed, disinfected, cut into segments and under a controlled process, milled into a fine powder. But we have very strict quality control guidelines. To further ensure that our customers will get only the best final product, the premium maca powder is tested for microbes before it is packed. We go over the product’s quality once more before it can be shipped and distributed. This is our assurance that our customers will only get the best maca root powder there is.
